The iphone 3g... by my opinion one of the best gadgets that one can find in the market at the moment ..
In a couple of days it will be released in anoher 30 or so countries so other people can enjoy!
The only bad thing I can find when u buy this device is that you have to use it with a contract under a specific carrier.. Thats stupid.. but cooperations have to make money :S :/
As I see it the US and the UK where the test subjects that had the 2g iphones in their possesion for quite a while now.. I believe that apple just wanted to see the reaction of the public to such a sophisticated device and the reaction of the "underground" also .. Well as many people have found in the internet this phone has been jailbroken and now users can do pretty much anything with it ! For some of us that posses the previous device as well .. we have the advantage at the moment to be able to use it to any carrier we want! because the baseband of the 1st generation iphone has been hacked!
The community now waits for the unlocking of the 3g model as well ! I hope that this happens!! My hopes are up as Zibri has done some pretty obscure posts about developing something! (Hopefully a 3g unlock and an easier and less time consuming jailbrake!)
Dev Team is also working on it but they cant say when or if they will/can make it :\ But I wouldnt put my money on them for bringing something out quickly!

To everyone that the iphone will become available to his country its a good investment to buy it ! and then jailbrake it of course!! Because after this the iphone becomes .. like a miniature laptop !
